Edelweiss Passaic to Receive Grant
from the National Endowment for the Arts
Edelweiss Passaic has been approved for a Grant for Arts Projects award from the National Endowment for the Arts to support 28.Gaufest 2022, a festival celebrating the Bavarian and Tyrolian Cultures of Germany and Austria. This project is among 1,125 projects across America totaling more than $26.6 million that were selected during this second round of Grants for Arts Projects fiscal year 2022 funding.
“The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support arts and cultural organizations throughout the nation with these grants, including Edelweiss Passaic, providing opportunities for all of us to live artful lives,” said NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD. “The arts contribute to our individual well-being, the well-being of our communities, and to our local economies. The arts are also crucial to helping us make sense of our circumstances from different perspectives as we emerge from the pandemic and plan for a shared new normal informed by our examined experience.”

Edelweiss Passaic is the host of the 28th Gaufest of the Gauverband Nordamerika. The 4-day festival will be held from Thursday July 7 to Sunday July 10, 2022 at Harrah’s Resort in the Waterfront Conference Center, Atlantic City, NJ.
The Gaufest is a world class event and is the largest gathering of its kind outside of Germany. Over 1,500 adults and children from across the United States, Canada and Europe will attend the Gaufest.
The festival celebrates Bavarian and Austrian culture with a wide variety of events for all. Including:
Tanzabend (dance evening) on Thursday
Heimatabend (traditional heritage evening) & Tanzabend on Friday
Festabend (traditional fest evening banquet) on Saturday
Festtag (traditional fest day) on Sunday
Abschiedsfeier (farewell party) on Sunday
